My mom was present.
She worked hard — often quietly, without asking for recognition — and she made sure we had what we needed. She always smelled good, carried herself with grace, and somehow never complained, no matter how much was on her plate.
She showed up — not just for the big moments like games, performances, and school conferences — but for the hard ones too. The disappointing days. The moments that didn’t make the highlight reel. And she did it with consistency, care, and love.
Some days, we had to do it with less than, but we always got it done.
